The History of Banana Row

Banana Row was founded by pro musician Craig Hunter primarily as a solo practice space for himself in the old fruit merchant huts in Leith docks.  Following increasing demand from his friends and fellow musicians he opened three more, better equipped practice rooms.

Having had the pleasure of using these oddly numbered rooms 15, 17 and 19 over many years I found it to be the friendly, bohemian atmosphere and genuinely cool musical vibe that attracted me to Banana Row.

Although many were sad when Banana Row moved from its original roots in Leith, Craig decided the name would be coming along with him to 47 Eyre Place.

This new building was purposely designed to provide the most efficient rehearsal rooms, teaching facilities and hire and recording services in Edinburgh with a warm environment that offers the most helpful staff.
